Top Ten Songs of 2009

Hello All,

Lauren and I decided to part ways on the blogging front. She’ll be handling the Corvus Noir blog on her own, she’s the fashion and jewelry guru. My posts didn’t relate to Corvus Noir much, oh well. This blog will be an outlet for my indie music obsession and anything else blogworthy in my head space.

This week I also listened to the All Songs Considered yearly wrap-up podcasts (all 4 hours worth). Between Pitchfork, All Songs Considered and the KCRW DJs best of lists,  I was inspired to do my last top ten list of the year, Best Songs of 2009 (check out my  Top Ten Albums of 2009 and Top Ten Albums of the Decade). This was the toughest list I’ve worked, it’s a lot easier to have a great single than a great album. Therefore, narrowing down to ten was super difficult.

I listened to A LOT of electronic music this year. I was so conflicted comparing more repetitive electronic songs to more traditional rock songs, so I decided to split the lists into 2 categories. Use the link at the end of each list to hear the tracks, enjoy!
